Do you have a hard time letting go?  Do you try to control your life, and everything that surrounds you?  Let’s face it…letting go, following, seeking humility, and forgiving over and over again is a really tough thing to do!  Think back to when you were a little kid jumping into a swimming pool for the first time.   Someone you love is waiting to catch you as you fall into their arms. The big problem is…you must TRUST the person who is catching you, or you will go under water.   Even if we trust the person, fear has a way of making us second guess our decision to jump and totally let go!

If you’ve read the story of Moses, then you’ll quickly understand how trusting Moses was grueling for God’s people.  As they ran for their lives, they saw no way out between Pharaoh and the carriages racing towards them!  They began to FEAR and blame Moses for bringing them out of slavery to what seemed a death sentence.  With the carriages getting closer and closer, the fear of God’s people was tough to overcome!  Moses followed God’s lead, and placed his staff in the water to part the red sea.  What seemed hopeless, was a new opened way with the turning of the tide (or God’s hand) to escape Pharaoh and his army.

When we let go, we place our hand on the bible to tell the truth, to live a life that honors God and his calls, to walk one day at a time with as much peace as we can, and to fall down to freedom in knowing that he is always there to catch us when we fall.  When we let go, we lay down in green pastures and walk beside still crystal clear waters, we watch white doves flutter and fly in the sky, we climb rugged steep mountains with ease, and we always find the rainbow after any storm.
