To have the privilege to stand in a field of wheat, that dances in the soft breeze, is such a peaceful feeling. I grew up with this feeling in the fields on my parents land in South Dakota. Growing up in the country as a kid was something that I took for granted. To have a free spirit to walk the fields of plenty, to ride 4 wheelers with the wind blowing your hair in the hot summer sun, and to see all the brilliant stars, in the darkest night, light up the sky is a sight to be seen! Not to mention the view of the majestic river and rolling hills on my parents ranch was also taken for granted. Funny how life does that to us. When something is right in front of us, we sometimes miss the experience, the beauty, miss the awe of the moment since we are “busy” but instead we should slow down and just enjoy the ride. Life definitely is a “RIDE” worth living
Having a free spirit in today’s world is more of a challenge to maintain. As a kid, it was easy to experience the freedom of walking by the creek in the trees behind our house, climbing up the trees to see colorful eggs in nests, making mud pies, and running through the sprinkler when the heat was too much to endure.
As an adult, I still get excited to return to my roots where my spirit is stronger, more vibrant, alive, and free! Where is your place where you can experience a stronger spirit? I hope you go there more often or create it in your living space today. Find your RIDE worth living where your spirit is strong and where the wheat dances wherever you are…
