What does it mean when you live inside your heart?  When you live inside your heart your intuition guides and leads your heart to act and behave a certain way.  Just as your heart pumps blood throughout your entire body to keep it alive, you “feel” emotions at an incredible new depth.  Your heart feels pain when someone is hurting, your heart smiles when someone is happy, your heart shows compassion to the needy, your heart shows concern when others are requesting your prayers, your heart is merciful, humble, forgiving, and beats with divine purpose.

When you begin your life as a child, your heart is sweet like honey.  Your child like heart trusts, loves, and lives in the same way we need oxygen to breathe.  As you grow, your heart may be exposed to a world that may hurt your heart.  Your heart can become injured by how others have treated you, and you might use your heart as a defense mechanism tool.  You build a strong and secure wall around your heart for fear of letting anyone inside to hurt it further.  Sometimes It is easier to grow a hardened heart instead of forgiving and allowing the walls to come crashing down!  If you’ve had relationship problems, the heart that should beat as ONE can be confusing if it refuses to become one.  When your heart aches for change in others, when your heart wants to live a certain way but just can’t there, when your heart is confused by others, then it is time to live inside your sacred heart.

When you escape inside your heart, you can JUST BE…  Just be what your heart was made for, and remember that like muscles in our body we need to exercise the heart muscle too.  We can exercise it by loving, forgiving, praying, caring, hoping, and using it for divine purpose.  The more we use our genuine heart, the easier it is to make it our home and live inside it.

Novena to the sacred heart of Jesus prayer…

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore You, I love You, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer You this poor heart of mine.  Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Your will.  Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in You and for You.  Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions; give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.
