Who do you consider anchors of help in your life?  Let’s face it, we all need help from time to time depending on what’s going on in our lives. Some need more help compared to others depending on their physical, mental, spiritual, or circumstantial situations that life sends them.  As with any offerings of help, some give freely, while others want something in return for the services of their helping hand.

I wonder why some give with such an open, willing, free heart, while others hold back with selfish ways of entitlement, pride, and live in their own egocentric ways.  This is a mystery that only God knows why people hold onto selfish ways, while others give and give with a stone of help.  My main stone of help is my Father…my earthly father, Eben…has been, continues to be, and will always be my firm anchor in my life.  He has helped me weather the storms, stand up to become strong, remain true in times of doubt, and has anchored me to the things that matter the most in this life!  Family, friends, love, caring, helping others, being genuine and kind, forgiving others, and being peaceful… He and my mom are my earthly stones of help.  My heavenly father is my anchor in everything I do, and keeps me grounded to stand on a firm foundation even if the earth shakes with great force.  We never know what tomorrow will bring for any of us, but with a divine anchor like Jesus holding onto us, and tapping us on the head in a loving way, we can face whatever tomorrow brings with confidence and forever hope…

Ebenezer Meaning: stone of help… This was the memorial stone set up by Samuel to commemorate the divine assistance to Israel in their great battle against the Philistines, whom they totally routed (1 Sam. 7:7-12).
